Leading Enterprise Platform for Franchise Management
Kosmos is a large scale proprietary platform, designed & developed for large companies/franchises in the US, EU & Canada which have more than 50.000+ subsidiaries (e.g. McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Arby’s, KFC.)
Kosmos would help high-ranking executives (CEO, COO, CIO) and business owners to manage & closely supervise activity and progress in their company but also give recommendations based of custom indicators and how to act on these.
Design a platform that would help high-ranking executives (CEO, COO, CIO) and business owners to manage & closely supervise activity and progress in their company but also give recommendations based of custom indicators and how to act on these.
Create a space where company wide information would be displayed in order to take action upon but also create and manage websites, job applications and other business needs such as print materials or promotional assets.
The main restriction in this project was on the development side due to the lack of time, the platform being build with a certain framework (Material UI build with React) which presented numerous limitations regarding styling.
I started first by translating the styles from the existing brand book into a basic styleguide built on top of Material UI, taking first care of the small building blocks and iterating on those while collaborating with the development team to see how far I can develop a style that fits inside their framework restrictions.
After setting in place the building blocks I continued with larger pieces of the platform constantly collaborating with the UX team in implementing metaphors and corresponding patterns.
To properly test the full design I went in and built a high-level prototype in HTML/CSS/JS to be able to put it in the hands of our leadership which had direct access to the target users (CEO/CIO/CCO).
